£45,000 OTE (£40,000 basic + £5,000 bonus
opportunity)
Based at Pulman Volkswagen Durham | Monday to Friday
The Role
The Pulman Group Marketing team is expanding,
and we are looking for an experienced marketer to lead the day-to-day delivery
of marketing activity across the Group.
Reporting to and working with
the Group Marketing Manager, you will play a key role in turning the Group’s wider
marketing direction into effective activity across our brands and locations.
The role combines planned campaigns with reactive requirements from our
manufacturer partners and Pulman sites, while also identifying opportunities to
improve how we market the business.
You will lead two Marketing Coordinators,
managing their workflow and priorities while remaining hands-on and able to
support delivery when required. You will keep the Group Marketing Manager and
wider stakeholders updated on progress, help manage expectations and ensure
activity is delivered accurately and on time.
Our Marketing Coordinators are responsible
for content creation across video, photography, graphics and copywriting. To
manage workflow effectively, we need someone with strong practical experience
across these areas who can brief, guide, challenge and quality-check their
work.
We are looking for someone with at least five
years' demonstrable marketing experience, together with experience of leading,
motivating and organising marketing coordinators or support staff.
You will need broad marketing experience and
be comfortable working across the full marketing mix, including digital,
websites, email, content, PR, events and campaign reporting. Just as
importantly, we want someone who will bring their own ideas, identify areas for
improvement and spot opportunities to strengthen our marketing performance.
Pulman is a family-owned business, so we are
looking for someone approachable, dependable and willing to get involved, while
also being confident enough to take ownership and provide direction to others.
Key Responsibilities
- Work
closely with the Group Marketing Manager to deliver marketing activity
across the Group and support wider marketing objectives.
- Lead,
organise and motivate two Marketing Coordinators, managing their
day-to-day workflow, priorities and deadlines.
- Balance
reactive marketing requirements from manufacturers and Pulman sites with
planned campaigns and ongoing activity.
- Coordinate
campaigns across multiple brands, locations and channels.
- Identify
opportunities to improve marketing activity, processes, content and
overall effectiveness.
- Oversee
content creation by the Marketing Coordinators, including video,
photography, graphics and copywriting, while supporting hands-on delivery
where required.
- Brief,
guide and quality-check creative and marketing output to maintain high
standards.
- Provide
regular updates on progress and outputs to the Group Marketing Manager and
wider stakeholders, managing expectations around priorities and deadlines.
- Maintain
and update websites using relevant CMS platforms.
- Create
and manage email, digital and social content.
- Support
PR, press releases, events and local marketing activity.
- Use
Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator, with
knowledge of relevant video and audio editing software.
- Monitor
campaign performance, analyse results and produce reports.
- Use
performance insight to recommend improvements and identify new
opportunities.
- Maintain
brand standards, advertising accuracy and FCA compliance.
- Proofread
and quality-check marketing material before publication.
Experience and Skills
You should be able to demonstrate:
- A
minimum of five years' professional marketing experience.
- Previous
experience supervising, leading or coordinating other team members,
including managing workflow and priorities.
- Broad
hands-on experience of content creation across video, photography,
graphics and copywriting, with the ability to confidently brief and
quality-check the work of others.
- Strong
practical knowledge of CMS platforms and website management.
- Experience
using Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Experience
across digital marketing, email, social media and content creation.
- Experience
of PR, events and campaign delivery.
- Strong
copywriting, proofreading and communication skills.
- Excellent
organisation and attention to detail.
- Ability
to manage multiple priorities and reactive requests in a fast-paced
environment.
- Confidence
communicating with stakeholders and managing expectations around
priorities and deadlines.
- Good
analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to use results to
recommend improvements.
- Confidence
working with colleagues, manufacturers, partners and suppliers.
- A
proactive approach with the ability to identify opportunities and suggest
new ideas rather than simply responding to briefs.
A relevant marketing, advertising,
communications or business qualification would be advantageous.
A full UK driving licence is required.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who will fit
naturally into the Pulman way of working: positive, organised, approachable and
prepared to lead by example.
You will be comfortable taking
responsibility, supporting others and keeping the team focused, while still
being willing to roll your sleeves up and get involved.
As a family business, relationships matter to

want to make a genuine contribution to the business.
